Course design
This course gives you the chance for assisted skippering of qualifying legs for YM Offshore or Ocean or take charge as a mate of the watch on extended ocean passages under instruction.
This practical course takes place on open water. Students are accommodated on board. A qualified RYA instructor will deliver the course content tailored to the needs of the participants.
A general introduction and safety brief as well as an outlook over the intended passage will be given before departure. En route you will take charge of the vessel according to the watch rota plan. After the course you will get a qualified debrief about your progress.
Certificate issuing criteria
Upon successful completion you will get a confirmation that states the departure and arrival dates, route, function and mileage completed.
